Narendra Modi

There are various news regarding the two factions in the BJP – pro Modi, against Modi. But seriously, though we all would like to believe that a party is greater always than any individual, it certainly is not the case with the BJP of today. Make no mistake, I like the BJP, but even I know that just supporting and voting BJP will not ensure that Modi becomes the next PM, but it will be Modi who can put the BJP at the centre. Only Modi has the charisma that can attract the undecided voters to the BJP.

Without Modi, BJP is just another national party. They have regional leaders. But no one that can trigger aspirations like Narendra Modi #NaMo. I come for Panaji, Goa CM’s constituency. Manohar Parrikar has won that constituency since 1994. And BJP are doing a decent job. So are his counter parts in the states pf MP and Chattisgarh. But NaMo is in a different league. He has pan India presence. People either love him and respect him, or point blank hate him. Indecisiveness in leadership has already cost the BJP in the state for Karnataka this year. Any further infighting at this stage will certainly help and provide fuel to the opposition that includes the polity and the mainstream news media or #MSN who will play this up. I mean, you know the national media is messed up when the spot fixing in the IPL takes precedence over the Naxal massacre that wipes out a state’s opposition leadership.

Advani and the likes should realize that this is not their time. This is going to be ‘aar ya paar’; with Modi leading the charge! Modi has charged up a section of people who think they deserve more than what the current leadership can provide. The section of people who think the last decade has been regressive, the section of people that has seen China zoom away into progress, the section who believes that it’s time for the largest democratic nation on the face of the earth to stand up and be counted. What remains to be seen is whether this section for people are in the majority?

Jai Hind!
